Istanbul Topkapı University Libraries were established in 2009 at the Balat campus with the aim of supporting the university’s education, training, and research activities, and meeting information and document needs.

The library, covering an area of 4,121 square meters with a seating capacity of 734, offers its users 24/7 access to over 35,000 printed books, more than 5,760 printed journals, 2,802,384+ e-books, 37,017+ e-journals, and 49 databases. The library makes extensive use of advanced educational technologies.

There are four libraries within our university:
Şeyhi Kırmızı Central Library – Located at the Kazlıçeşme Campus,
J Block Library – Kazlıçeşme Campus, J Block, 2nd Floor,
Altunizade Library – Altunizade Campus, 1st Floor,
Şişli Library – 1st Floor.

Mission

The mission of the library is to provide, organize, and deliver materials necessary for academic and administrative staff, students, and other users within our university in the most efficient and rapid manner to achieve educational and research objectives. In the electronic environment, it aims to facilitate the fastest and easiest access to information, directly contributing to education. The library also strives to operate according to international standards using the latest technology and defining the necessary methods and responsibilities to achieve this.

Vision

The Directorate of Library and Documentation aims not only to meet the information and documentation needs of its students and academic staff but also to provide a warm and welcoming research environment. It seeks to help users enhance their national and international knowledge and experience.
