  • Borrowing
Users benefiting from the book borrowing service at Istanbul Topkapı University Library are responsible for the materials they borrow until they are returned. Library materials must be returned in the same condition as when borrowed. The library user is obliged to pay for any lost or damaged materials at the current price and conditions determined by the library.

The borrowing period, number of books, and renewal rights are as follows:

Overdue Returns and Penalties

Users who do not return library materials within the specified borrowing period cannot borrow new materials until they return the overdue ones. Users with overdue materials will receive an email notification from the library system.

Renewal

Renewal requests can be made once for the same material, provided it has not been reserved by another user. Renewals can be done online through the library catalog system or in person at the circulation desk.

Reservations

If the material you wish to borrow is already checked out, you may reserve it through the online catalog system. When the material is returned, an email notification will be sent to the user who made the reservation.

Lost or Damaged Materials

In case of loss or damage, the user must provide a new copy of the same material or pay its current market price as determined by the library.
