Erasmus Policy statement is below:

“Topkapı acknowledges that promotion of Erasmus activities is the key for fostering internationalization of the university. Therefore, the management of Topkapı is determined to use all means of promotion and motivation for students and staff.

Informative seminars in Turkish and English language will be organized for students and staff to introduce the calls and opportunities. Potential participants will special needs will also be encouraged through separate sessions. In addition to informative seminars on the programme, motivation talks—given by experts—will be prepared for students to encourage them for joining international activities. In these talks, former Erasmus participants will be met with the possible ones to make them share experiences and ideas. With the help of Erasmus student clubs, all these students—incoming, outgoing and future participants—will come together and help the programme activities to foster in the university, contributing to social engagement. Topkapı also plans to use social media more effectively to attract local and international students for Erasmus activities.

In order to raise the number of incoming students, Topkapı aims to increase partner visits to strengthen cooperation and make informative and encouraging presentations about Topkapı and Istanbul to students of the partner. International fairs, exhibitions and other networking activities that Topkapı intends to attend also will help to boost cooperation with international institutions.

In addition to targets for promoting staff mobilities and Staff Week, stated above, Topkapı’s aim to establish Project Office is believed to enhance the programme activities, especially within KA2 and KA3 projects, through helping staff in being introduced to the opportunities and learning practical information about applications and implementations.

It is well acknowledged by Topkapı that the Charter principles have great importance to carry out and sustain a high qualified programme. Thus, Topkapı is committed to follow its principles with its all units and departments.

The Charter, with its English and Turkish versions, will be published on the university web site to be seen by all staff and students. It will also be sent to the all university departments and units with the full explanations of its values and requirements by e-mail. Meetings will be organized by the Rectorate, including the International Office, Erasmus coordinators, Student Affairs Unit, and Career and Alumni Relations Office and other relevant departments, to make sure that all departments have full appreciation of the principles and to promote the ways of implementation.

Regular meetings will also be organized to monitor how the units comply with the principles and how the activities are progressed over time. The ECHE self-assessment tool is moreover believed to be useful to check powerful or weak areas of implementation and to evaluate the university performance. Thus, the tool will be introduced and promoted to the relevant staff members. Moreover, feedbacks through online surveys of the Mobility Tool will be followed to check weaknesses. Extra precautions will be taken accordingly.”
