In this rapid process of change, organizations need to know how the right technological interventions should be applied to which of it’s functions, in order to keep up with the changes and sustain their existence. In this context, having only technological knowledge or only business and management knowledge is not sufficient. It is necessary to understand both business functions and technological requirements.
In Todays World, information technology departments are vital for all organizations. However, the individuals working in these departments often do not have sufficient knowledge of the functions of management. This shortages cause delays due to deficiencies and errors in decision-making, identifying needs, and making future predictions, as the individuals who are experts in technology may lack the necessary understanding to align with the organization's goals. Graduates of the Management Information Systems Department possess knowledge in both fields, making them strategic assets for organizations. Whether as business professionals, IT experts, or individuals facilitating data transfer between the two areas, they will play a crucial role in the success and strategic development of the organization.
The Management Information Systems Department is a comprehensive four-year undergraduate program that integrates both information technology and management disciplines. Throughout these four years, students will engage in courses that cover various aspects of both fields, providing them with a well-rounded education that prepares them to address the technological and managerial challenges faced by modern organizations.
